Fits: Toyota Hilux N70 with a non-touchscreen factory stereo — the head unit with TUNE/FILE and PWR/VOL dials and a 3.5" screen. Build years 2006 through 2013. Workmate, SR and SR5, single cab, extra cab and dual cab, automatic or manual, petrol or diesel.
If your Hilux has a factory touchscreen instead, you need AC-TOY-RC2. Check the Compatible Vehicles image against your dash before ordering.
Which Hilux Kit Do I Need?
Go by the front of the vehicle, not the plate — Toyota changed the Hilux over during 2015. A wide chrome grille bar with separate upright headlights is the N70; a deep one-piece grille with swept-back headlights is the N80.

How It Installs
The AutoChimp™ Reverse Camera Kit adds a reverse camera to your factory screen with no cutting, no splicing and no dealer coding. The included AC-TOY-20PIN interface harness installs inline behind the stereo on the factory 20-pin plug.
The camera does not plug into the stereo directly. It connects to the 4-pin camera port on the AC-TOY-20PIN adapter, and the adapter carries the video through to the rear of the head unit. Camera power is 6V, supplied by the factory unit through the harness.
Most 2006–2013 Hilux already carry the reverse signal in the factory plug and pick it up through the 5-pin white connector, so the harness simply plugs in. If your vehicle does not have that signal, the harness includes a green trigger wire and a SnapTap connector — see the Connection Guide.
The Pass-Through Stays Open
All 20 factory pins carry straight through the harness, so every OEM circuit stays connected. On this kit the 4-pin pair stays open — that is where the camera plugs in. Closing it is only for restoring the factory connection.

Quick Start
- Mount the camera on the tray, tub, bar or bracket of your choice.
- Route the 7m power and video cable from the rear of the vehicle forward to the stereo.
- Plug the camera into the 4-pin camera port on the AC-TOY-20PIN adapter.
- Fit the adapter inline on the factory 20-pin plug behind the stereo.
- Connect the green wire at the fuse box only if your vehicle has no reverse signal in the factory plug.
- Set image flip or guidelines if required using the camera's loop wires.
Reverse Trigger Connection (certain models only)
Only needed if your Hilux has no reverse signal in the OEM 5-pin plug behind the stereo.
- Location: driver's side fuse box, left of the steering column.
- Find the small vertical connector in the centre of the fuse box.
- Tap the red/white wire in that connector — this is the 12V reverse light signal.
- Join the harness green wire to it using the supplied AutoChimp™ SnapTap.
