AutoChimp™ Heavy Duty Reverse Camera Kit for Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series (2024–2026) | Commercial Grade Upgrade

SKU: AC-TOY-RC8-RC9-HEAVY

Fits: The facelift Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series with a factory stereo — mid-2023 release onwards through 2026. Single Cab, Double Cab, Wagon and Troop Carrier, in Workmate, GX and GXL variants. Automatic and manual.

Check the Compatible Stereos and Compatible Vehicles images against your dash before ordering. If your 70 Series is the pre-facelift — 2014 to early 2023 — you need AC-TOY-RC7-HEAVY instead.

How It Works

Includes the AutoChimp™ Heavy Duty camera, ready to fit. The camera plugs into the interface harness, and the harness plugs into the vehicle — behind the stereo or at the driver's kick panel depending on your model. Selecting reverse brings the camera up on your factory screen automatically.

Plug & play — no cutting, no splicing, and fully reversible.

Note: Use either AC-TOY-12PIN (kick panel install) or AC-TOY-28PIN (stereo install) — not both. See the Connection Guide.

Which 70 Series Kit Do I Need?

Go by the build date, not the plate — Toyota's 70 Series facelift reached Australia mid-2023 and sells as a 2024 model year onwards.

Every kit comes in two camera grades. Pro Series is the standard camera. Heavy Duty is the commercial-grade upgrade for trays, canopies and hard-worked vehicles — same harnesses, same installation.

Car Specific Wiring Kit

Two interface harnesses are included. Choose the one that suits your vehicle.

Adapter Install Location When To Use It
AC-TOY-28PIN Rear of the stereo Works on every 70 Series. Use this on Workmate and base models with no factory wiring run into the kick panel.
AC-TOY-12PIN Driver's kick panel Use this if the wires are in the kick panel — typically GX and GXL. Not fitted to all models.

The kick panel connector is present on every vehicle — on some models the wires simply are not run into it. Pull the kick panel cover and look. If the wires are there, use the 12-pin. If they are not, use the 28-pin at the stereo.

Harness Install Locations

Each harness has one install location. The AC-TOY-28PIN plugs in behind the stereo and feeds the reverse trigger signal in on its green wire and video signal through the 4 Pin connectors. The AC-TOY-12PIN is an alternative connection for the camera input at the driver's kick panel, model dependent.

Note: Use one harness only, not both. Some model vehicles do not have wires in the kick panel — use the stereo connector on those.

Full Pass-Through

Both interface harnesses are full pass-through. Every factory wire carries straight through the loom, so no OEM cable is cut, spliced or left disconnected. The only break-out is the 4-pin camera input — everything else stays exactly as Toyota wired it. Unplug the harness and the vehicle is back to standard.

Key Features

  • Heavy Duty 4-Pin Aviation Connector – Screw-locked and sealed instead of a moulded plug, so it stays connected and can be serviced in the field.
  • Sealed Cable Entry – Rubber sealing grommet and a dust and water cover on the camera lead.
  • 360° Mounting Bracket – Six stainless steel screws on the camera, aimed and locked off wherever the camera lands on a tray, canopy or bar.
  • Infrared Night Vision with IR Cut – The filter lifts in daylight so colour stays true, and drops at night for usable low-light vision.
  • 10m Extension Cable Included – Reaches the back of a tray or a long wheelbase without a second purchase.
  • Both Adapters Included – AC-TOY-28PIN and AC-TOY-12PIN supplied together, so you are never caught out on installation day.
  • Wide 6V–24V Range – Works across factory and aftermarket camera power systems.
  • Clear View, No Guidelines – The camera draws no parking lines and the factory Toyota stereo doesn't add them, so the picture stays unobstructed. If you want guidelines, use the Pro Series kit.

Camera Setup

Two labelled jumpers on the camera lead set it up for your screen.

  • Video Select – AHD or CVBS. In CVBS the camera auto-switches NTSC / PAL.
  • Image Flip – Mirror or Non-Mirror. Mirror is correct for reversing; Non-Mirror lets the same camera run as a front camera.

Quick Start Guide

  1. Mount the camera and aim it using the 360° bracket.
  2. Run the 10m extension forward to the stereo or the driver's kick panel.
  3. Plug the camera into the interface harness you are using — AC-TOY-28PIN or AC-TOY-12PIN, not both.
  4. Fit that harness inline: the 28-pin behind the stereo, or the 12-pin at the driver's kick panel.
  5. Select reverse. The camera comes up on the factory screen automatically.

A Note on the Green Wire

The AC-TOY-28PIN carries a loose green wire. It is not used on this vehicle — insulate or remove it. The reverse trigger is already fed through the factory harness. The loose wire is there because the same harness also serves the earlier pre-2023 70 Series, which does need it.
